In the past three decades, the golfing achievements of individual Club members have largely been dominated by Rodney Foster. The Club is proud to have as a member a man whose name is known throughout the world of amateur golf and who has been not only one of the county’s greatest amateur players but one of the finest ambassadors of the game all over the world .
Rodney was brought up in a golfing family. His mother and father were both members of The Bradford Golf Club, his father having been Captain of the Club in 1956. His brother George was a scratch golfer and obtained a golfing blue at Oxford and played for the Yorkshire team in the 1950's.

During his career he has held course records at Royal Lytham, Royal Troon, Prestbury, Leeds and The Bradford, of which Royal Lytham (66) and Prestbury (66) still stand today.
